Margaux de Penfentenyo creates pieces about the sea level rise, the ocean and the climate change

Atlantis collection

The Atlantis collection evokes the rising waters.

The phenomenon reminds us of the ocean's power and its ever-changing nature. As sea levels rise, coastlines shift, reshaping the boundaries between land and sea. While this can pose challenges for coastal communities, it also highlights the resilience and adaptability of marine ecosystems.

Despite this, the ocean retains its breathtaking beauty, captivating hearts with its vastness and diversity.

The ocean, covering over 70% of the Earth's surface, plays a crucial role in regulating the Earth's climate and supporting biodiversity. It absorbs vast amounts of carbon dioxide and helps stabilize global temperatures.

The ocean's beauty reminds us of the preciousness of our planet's natural wonders.

The Atlantis collection is an ode to the ocean.

Sailing across the Atlantic

These 19 days of sailing across the Atlantic Ocean were 19 days outside of the world. Free from the constraints of society, past, and future. It was an experience during which time did not exist. This endless mass of water and eternal horizon were only marked by the cycles of the sun, the moon, and the stars.

This adventure became a creation. Every day, and even during my night watch, I embroidered a scene representative of the day. Thread after thread, I embroidered the logbook. This creation lasted as long as the experience itself and accompanied me fully in every moment.

This journey left a deep impression on me and challenged my perception of time, making me realize that, in certain contexts, time evaporates, giving way to a purely present experience, devoid of a defined past or future.
